EUW/UUW 117 Japanese Language 1

Course Synopsis

As in the first course, this course also emphasizes on listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students will be exposed to vocabulary expansion, speaking using dialogues for different purposes and different contexts. Students will be introduced to simple essential grammar and sentence structures. Students will also be exposed to reading short passages and writing longer sentences to compose shot passages. The syllabus ranges from the basic Japanese structures to basic Japanese cultural elements.

 

Course Outcome

Upon the completion of this course, students should be able to:

  • Pronounce Japanese word and have acquired tone discrimination.
  • Listen, understand and speak longer dialogues in various topic for different proposes.
  • Read simple texts independently.
  • Construct Japanese sentence and compose short passage.

EUW/UUW 217 Japanese Language 2
